This project tells the story of a pianist and her husband. While she is a famous local pianist who gives piano lessons at home, he is a famous deaf writer who often travels around the world for book signing events. The story starts when he cheats on her. Feeling terribly about the affair, he confesses to her what he has done. She losses faith in their marriage yet agrees to stay as a couple in from of the public in order to sustain their reputations. They live under the same roof yet act like strangers…
The dwelling reflects their relationship in many different ways. Geometrically, it starts as a cube and gets broken down into two parts that are geometrically identical. While the two parts are never touching, they create a transparent middle ground that serves as a common space for the two residents. They occupy their own private part of the dwelling throughout the day and only put on a show to be a couple when friends are around. He regrets having the affair deeply and begs for her forgiveness, though she devotes all her energy into her practice. He wakes up every day to see her play the piano on the other side, so close yet out of reach. The two parts curve, turn, and overlook each other just like the two characters, but will there ever be a point where they intersect...?
